Hack the Tangle: Defend Perryman’s Greenspaces
March 1 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Join the Perryman Community for a light breakfast followed by a community work session to save trees in the Forest Green Lake Preserve.
Feeling pent-up energy? Bring it to the forest and channel it into a mission that matters. Join us for a hands-on effort to hack, slash, and clear invasive vines strangling Perryman’s natural beauty. Together, we’ll take down aggressive invaders like English Ivy, Bittersweet, and Honeysuckle—while learning to spot and protect natives like Poison Ivy, Native Grape, and Virginia Creeper.
This event in being held in partnership with the Harford Climate Action Group and lead by Will Graham. Harford County Climate Action Group is working to get Harford County to take action on this very serious issue. If left unchecked, these invasive vines will completely decimate our forests.
This isn’t just cleanup—it’s combat. Let’s cut these vines down to size and give our forests room to breathe again.
What to Bring:
- Weather-ready clothes and sturdy boots—this is no time for flip-flops.
- Gloves are non-negotiable—you’ll need them for the fight.
- Arm yourself with hand clippers, loppers, or a hand saw (we have a few extras to share if you’re short on gear).
