Tamie Wainwright Candidate Statement
To 3P Protect Perryman Peninsula,
My work in District F has always been guided by a simple belief: when we understand the full story of a community, its history, its pressures, its strengths, and its aspirations, we can govern with clarity and purpose.
The eight pillars outlined by 3P reflect that same approach. They are not slogans or talking points. They are a practical framework for evaluating decisions, measuring impacts, and making sure every neighborhood and every resident in District F is seen, heard, and protected.
I am committed to addressing long-standing environmental and racial inequities by looking honestly at cumulative impacts, land-use history, infrastructure gaps, and patterns of industrial clustering. Future decisions should not repeat past harms or place new burdens on communities that have already carried more than their fair share.
I also believe growth must be transparent, responsible, and community-focused. Residents should be engaged early and meaningfully. Growth should pay for growth. Planning should reflect real neighborhood needs, not decisions made after the fact or behind closed doors.
District F needs infrastructure and public safety systems that keep pace with development. That means aligning investments with actual population patterns, addressing maintenance backlogs, and making sure traffic safety and emergency response are part of the conversation before major decisions are made.
Our natural assets are part of who we are. I support protecting green space, expanding public waterfront access, strengthening environmental resilience, and preserving places where families can gather, breathe, and connect.
Our history also deserves care. Land holds memory. The stories, contributions, and places that shaped our communities, should not be erased by development or ignored in planning decisions. Economic development must be sustainable, balanced, and fiscally responsible. I support growth that strengthens communities, respects infrastructure capacity, and protects the environmental
resources that make District F worth fighting for.
Shared solutions require open communication and real collaboration among residents, nonprofits, businesses, and public agencies. I will not make deals behind closed doors or participate in NDAs that silence communities.
Finally, lasting protections require more than good intentions. They require clear policies, updated zoning, modern planning tools, and enforceable safeguards that endure beyond any single election or administration.
3P’s eight pillars reflect the values I will bring to county government: transparency, stewardship, historical awareness, responsible growth, and respect for the families and neighborhoods of District F.
Warm regards,
Tamie Wainwright
Harford County Council Candidate
